Reply To: New SPGB website??
VM, Libcom has a forum far better than our own but they also have little traffic. Same amount of regular posters as us and not many new visitors from the public.
I think SPGB members are wearying of talking to ourselves, hence the few participants.
So rather than improving the appearance of the forum, i’d suggest we look again at its purpose.
It is not reaching out to our fellow-workers and attracting them to make enquiries about our ideas (albeit there are a couple of notable exceptions) Making it more user-friendly could help but i’m not too hopeful.
It’s not providing a fulcrum for members to debate and discuss topics apart from a handful of us who believe disagreements are a healthy process of acquiring further knowledge.
However, i have come to appreciate the forum’s usefulness in sharing information and interpreting it. A quick survey of the popular threads indicate this.
Perhaps as an Information and Data-bank might be a better reason for this forum’s existence.
For comradely chit-chat perhaps we can devise something else as i think the SOCIAL part of the SOCIAList Party is important.
