Evident now that total war, and soon, is now the agenda.

The flirting with a peace meeting between Trump and Putin didn’t last long.

Perhaps Putin was rather shocked at the blustering ego-maniacal fool he was speaking with and decided he had nothing to fear from the US? I believe he called him a ‘paper tiger’.

The Russians are not foolish to give the USA the best part of the cake, and they have access to the seas for their naval fleet and minerals from Ukraine, so practically, that proxy war is lost. At the beginning, the Russians were weakened, but now they are stronger.

The old days of kicking ass are gone; the USA does not have the muscle to twist the arm of Russia. They have a powerful professional army, but it has been defeated several times by unprofessional armies and guerrilla fighters.s

Donald Trump promised to obtain peace in 24 hours, and millions of people believed that lie without knowing that capitalist wars are controlled by the capitalist market, and governments can only control the supply of weapons.

It has been proven that he is a lousy negotiator, and he is trying to use a gangster’s tactic for this conflict, but it does not work, like David Niven said in the Pink Panther movie: “You can not bullshit a bullshitter,” and Putin was a colonel of the KGB, and he is a member of the Russian oligarchy class

Donald Trump might be a strong president, but for the Russian oligarchy, he is a paper tiger, a term coined by Mao Zedong

As the Ukrainian state loses more and more, European governments might launch a war with Russia in order to bring in the US.
They keep asking, “Would you defend us if Russia attacks?”, which could be whispered, “If we can get Russia to attack us, would you defend us?”

European heads still doing their utmost to provoke a nuclear war, as well as sabotaging their own economic interests. Still no explanation to be found.

The party still silent on the approaching European, and probably global, war.

The Slovak protests show how easily the young too are swayed to support Brussels’ war party.

The same WW2 propaganda rehashed (“democracy” vs totalitarianism) which rallied workers to the flag works as always.

Well, personally, I am sceptical that there is an “approaching” European war. It may happen, but it is unlikely in my opinion. To a large extent, I think all this warmongering is just nationalistic bluster. Most workers have the common sense (even if the politicians are bereft of such faculty) to realise that if Russia were seriously intent on “invading Europe”, then the prospects of it doing so seem pretty remote if, after 3-4 years of military conflict, Russia has only managed to secure about a fifth of the territory of Ukraine.

Anyway, for the duration of the war, Europe has already been involved in providing personnel and armaments on the ground in Ukraine.

I think the fact that we find increasing movement in the direction of wanting to get Russia to agree to a ceasefire is significant. The war has been costly for Europe (and Russia, too, of course), and the proles are getting restless.

Apart from that, I suspect the next wave of elections will bring to power political parties that are less committed to continuing the war. Farage and his cronies spring to mind (Farage having been accused of being a Kremlin sympathiser). The same is true of other parts of Europe. Madam von der Leyen´s days are numbered

The capitalists have been spying on each other for many years, and they have been violating their own national borders and sovereignty for many years.

Right now, the US has sent warships to the Caribbean and the Pacific near the international limit of Venezuela and Colombia, and they are conducting subversive internal operations in Venezuela, but it is only a scare tactic because they know that a war in Latin America might have drastic consequences, and they might be defeated again, like in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Socialist Party has written and published many articles and pamphlets about wars and about this particular war in Eastern Europe. The conditions for a World War, or European, do not exist at present.

Western countries have been forced to increase their military spending by cutting the benefits of European workers, and there is great resistance against that. The European workers are not willing to sacrifice their standard of living for a capitalist confrontation.

The European capitalist class does not want a rebellion in their own countries, and the European workers have more class consciousness than the American working class; they are also resisting against the war, and even more, they voted for Trump because he promised to end the Ukraine war.

Russia is winning this war, but it has taken them several years to obtain the territories that they have conquered now, and they have used all kinds of military resources.

The USA is not going to authorise the use of long-range missiles toward Russia because it is a provocation of war, and Russia also has long-range missiles and nuclear bombs, and the US is not in economic conditions to carry on a long war either, and young people are not willing to fight another war.
