ModeratorIt’s disheartening to see so many people online cheering on Iran’s bombardment of Israel (just as much as any cheering for the bombing of Tehran is abhorrent). the loss of life is a loss of potential for all humanity, mute inglorious Miltons (or future cancer researchers, AI specialists, or whatever) are dying, useful housing is being destroyed and the environment despoiled and resources depleted. It’s awful to watch.

ParticipantAnd, even if this doesn’t trigger a world war (Russia and China cannot afford to have a US puppet in Tehran!), what of the ecological fall-out, even if a nuke isn’t used, but only a few MOPs, on a nuclear enrichment centre, let alone if it is?
” According to two defense officials who were briefed, the thinking is that only a tactical nuclear weapon could be capable of destroying Fordow because of how deeply it is located.”

ParticipantTrump might give order this weekend, now that business has closed for the week. He might use a tactical nuke.
We know what Chernobyl did. This will be much worse.June 21, 2025 at 4:34 am #258959Citizenoftheworld
ParticipantIn Iraq they use tactical bombs ( known as mini nukes ) and depleted uranium. The quantity of depleted uranium is larger than the two nuclear bombs dropped in Japan, and there are ecological and biological consequences including birth defects . US soldiers have been affected too. Capitalism is a criminal economic system, and still millions of people support it

ParticipantThey passively support it.
Their priorities are a wage coming in, and supporting families. For very many, the priorities are induced through the media’s (and by extension, their peers’) “body fascism”: constant judging of appearance, “coolness” and sexual “success” or failure. Hence, many in the hi-tech countries are coerced into navel-gazing neurosis. As, for most, the psychological upheavals of youth give way to the resignation of “maturity”, the tired majority, without any background in learning (apart from state/business outlets and agencies), passively believe whatever they get from newspapers and tv news, mouthpieces for the national bourgeoisie and its state. They consider anything at odds to be youthful folly or the treasonous obsessions of unruly types and odd-bods (including us).
By comparison, ACTIVE support is more minimal, except when war breaks out – which is when one is “trampled by the boots of former pacifists in their rush to enlist”, as some wit said of the two previous world wars.

ParticipantTake the current situation/s:
We might see the protests against Israel etc. if we check Youtube or dissenting news reports, but mention anything to neighbours in the “real world” here, as they say, and it’s
1) “Oh the poor Israeli hostages!”
2) “We need to stop Iran!”
3) “Palestinians are terrorists!”And on Ukraine:
1) “We must stop Putin!”
2) “Poor Zelensky!”
3) “Putin will try to conquer Europe!”And the all-time favourite, often accompanied with a hard poke in the chest:
“Two words to say to you: HUMAN NATURE!”

ParticipantThis is a bizarre world. They should give a Nobel peace prize to Al Capone, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill, Eisenhower, Augusto Pinochet, a bunch of war criminals. They gave one to Henry Kissinger, The Pope John II, and Barrack Obama. There were recommendations to give a Nobel Peace Prize to Fidel Castro
In the US workers only have two topics: Liberals and Conservatives, Joe Biden and Donald Trump, it is like a dead end, and young peoples are concentrated in military video games, libraries are empties and bookstore are going in bankruptcy, and right wing populists are spreading around the whole world. In Latin America movement similar to the Argentina is being copied in other countries like in Uruguay and Paraguay

ParticipantGerman Politician Roderich Kiesewetter says “We are prepared to defend Israel’s security with our lives.”
Who is this ‘we’ of which he talks of?
Someone tell him that Russia has said it will defend Iran if America attacks
What’s the difference between a tragedy and a cow?
A Zionist can’t milk a cow.
