ParticipantUnfontunate. But clear: without class socialist concience, even a broad people’s movement can be integrated in the system. This is a clear message for “spontaneists” on the supposed ground of Rosa Luxemburg. But, well at Rosa’s time there was a socialist organization at Germany (perhaps with very imperfections as we can see in 1914): party, unions, cultural or sport organizations.
Unless, would it be good democratic achievements. But with an Islamist president and the power of the Army …. that’s very hard.
Socialist Salutations.

KeymasterThe Trotskyists of the SWP will be pleased as they said Vote Muslim Brotherhood:http://www.socialistworker.co.uk/art.php?id=28611As “the lesser evil” and “without illusions”, of course.

ModeratorAlso:http://www.socialistworker.co.uk/art.php?id=28922http://www.socialistworker.co.uk/art.php?id=28920One blogger on the ground I’ve been reading suggests that what has happened is that, having fought to a stalemate, The Muslim Brotherhood and the Military have cut a deal, MB will have power where the military doesn’t think it will effect their interests. Essentially playing the same role as the Ayatollah’s in Iran, or the Turkish military. I think the chief hope in this situation is the abstention rate (nearly 50%) which means MB can’t be sure of their base; and the role of the unions in the revolution. Maybe some sort of autonomy for the central metropoli can allow some space to flourish, while the rural vote gives the Islamists the control of the national government.

KeymasterAware that many party members are amiss in visiting the Socialist Banner, the party’s African themed blog, they probably have not read the following two posts on the subject of Egypt’s elections http://socialistbanner.blogspot.com/2012/06/going-beyond-unions.htmlhttp://socialistbanner.blogspot.com/2012/06/lesser-evil-is-still-evil.html

ParticipantThe rate of abstention is very significative. It’s encouraging for me that the islamist wouldn’t have so much support.Interesting the links of Socialist Banner.Pd. Yes I knew about SWP. It’s sad that they could won honest people for their awfull trot program.

InactiveYoung Master Smeet may have been commenting on my posts both above-the-line and below on “Harry’s Place” – as, certainly, the position he outlines is very similar to my analyses there; and I am a ‘blogger on the ground’ as I live and work in Cairo.Regards AF
