Blackbeard was always honest. He freed all his prisoners unharmed (but robbed, of course!) and kept all promises. He accomplished the siege of Charleston without a single casualty on either side and without firing a shot.
But the hired men of state violence were and are not like him. So he had to pay their price. 😢
