The pink tide (Spanish: marea rosa, Portuguese: onda rosa, French: marée rose), or the turn to the left (Spanish: giro a la izquierda, Portuguese: virada à esquerda, French: tournant à gauche), is a political wave and perception of a turn towards left-wing governments in Latin American democracies moving away from the neoliberal economic model in the 21st century. As a term, both phrases are used in 21st-century political analysis in the news media and elsewhere to refer to a move toward more economic progressive or social progressive policies in Latin America.[1][2][3] Such governments have been referred to as “left-of-centre”, “left-leaning”, and “radical social-democratic”.[4] They are also members of the São Paulo Forum, a conference of left-wing political parties and other organizations from the Americas

Some members of this so called Pink Tide ( instead of being called Red Tide ) are losing popularity and probably the right wingers are going to take over again.

Lula in Brasil is already losing the support of the workers and he was elected a few months ago, and his austerity plan ( similar to Bolsonaro ) has been rejected by the Brazilian workers,

Boric in Chile has been defeated twice and his coalition of Socialists and Communists ( known as renovated ) is losing popularity too, and probably the right-wingers will take over again in the next presidential election.

In Argentina the Peronistas are very unpopular now and they do not have any more presidential candidates and Fernandez is not looking for presidential nomination again and his Vice President probably would go to prison after she finishes her vice presidential term.

Others members of the Pink tide are stepping on quick sand, in Peru Castillo had a self coup ( similar to Joaquin Balaguer ) and he was taken to prison, now the new game in town is self coup. Balaguer did it during the 60 but he was protected by the USA and he came back to stay in power for more than 12 years.

In Venezuela Nicolas Maduro is losing popularity too and the confrontation with the Communist Party will take part of his followers and they are planning to confront him in the next presidential election
