ParticipantFraternal greetings Vin.Lets hope we can organise some activity for 2017. Has anybody watched I Daniel Blake ?? Very moving film, if this does not make you angry against the system nothing will. I wonder has the spgb ever been in touch with Ken Loach? maybe send him a free subscription to the standard There must be a few more we should get in touch with. John Pilger, Noam Chonsky, Ricky tomlinson etc. Yes i know they are not calling for free access at argos and Tesco but do we really have to carry on with the hostility against all who do not agree 100% We have much to gain from embracing these people in a fraternal manner who have access to the media, what have we got to lose the party is shrinking and withering.Let us all help to speed the day when this wonderful earth and its rich resources are held in common for the benefit of all humanity.

InactiveHello old friend, nice to hear from you. How are you keeping? It certainly feels like the party is withering. One branch has called for a party wide discussion(Kent)Motion 3. (to the EC) M.Chesham & R.Cox "This branch is of the opinion that the Party needs to undertake an urgent review of the sustainability of its organisational structure and its ability to effectively engage its members and supporters to achieve its objectives and operate in the 21st Century. We call upon the Executive Committee to organise a consultation of the entire membership on:1. Their views on the current and future organisational structure of the Party.2. The views of members on the priorities of the Party.3. How best individual party members, supporters and sympathisers can be enabled to participate in achieving the object of the Party.” Perhaps you could open up a discussion on the 'Hostility Clause'. That would be interesting Keep well Vin

Sadly very few respond.

If a few comrades are up for this it could be advertised in the events section – PM me the details. Never know, it may attract other socialists and non-socialists alike in the vicinity.

InactiveIf you decide to go let me know where and when you are meeting. We will need some leaflets. Is the Socialist Standard still in print?
April 20, 2017 at 1:14 pm #124312Anonymous
InactiveI understand there are still copies of the Socialist Standard available at HO. If you let me know what you might need in the way of literature I can get it sent to you when I next go to HO which will probably be next Tuesday, 25 April. Let me also have details of the venue, etc.
