The proposal to organise those members of the SPGB resident outside of the UK into a branch is shortly to be discussed by the EC

Some comrades in special circumstances, may find that using Tor browser to disguise their internet activities is useful.

    Hi Matt,

I have heard of this Tor browser but would it be the case that if members living under some authoritarian dictatorship were to download this facility   this in itself could alert the authorities to what from their point of view is suspicious activity?    We do have members of the Party living in countries where any sort of  overt political activity would be risky

Hi Robin, The browser stops commercial tracking of ones activity, as well as being useful for other purposes. So its downloading itself is an innocent activity. It is difficult for me to say in any definite way how other regimes would view it.

I already had it on my desktop to try out to see how it displayed our material. But I haven’t personally used it, since I downloaded it.

I sometimes use encrypted emails and so on for sending passwords butI thought any one who needed that sort of facility, would already have it, so I didn’t put links up for those.
