We are not the only members concerned about the use of the SS.Syriza will fail, Corbyn will fail. Yes we know, the capitalist press has already told us. I don't think we need it on the front cover.

What did you have in mind for the content of the letter Joe?

Perhaps a resolution to the EC may help sway future issues. May I put this as a starting point for discussion"The branch is concerned that the front covers of the August and September Socialist Standards may turn away potentially interested workers. “Zyriza will fail”, “Corbyn will fail”, “Austerity cannot be avoided’  may be true but they are also the headlines of the  capitalist press and better not repeated on the front page of the Socialist Standard."

Sounds good to me Vin. Its like cooking the tastiest, most saliva producing dish imaginable. If the outside looks unpalatable, then no one is ever going to try the "tasty" morsels inside!

If that is an addendum to the motion, I will support it

You can take it as an addendum Vin. For years, the Standard has had great info, articles and writing but how many have been put off by the "unpalatable exterior"?

Steve, not sure how to word a letter, yet, It would need some careful consideration. We have two ideas put forward, do we go with both, or just chose one?

As we're going to leave this site open, maybe if comrades have ideas, they can leave them here and we can concoct a collage of ideas!

Both ideas are flawed. Not all members attend branch meetings, so a letter would not reach everyone. And a resolution to the E.C. ………???

A letter to the wider SPGB membership is, I think, what Joe has in mind Vin.
