FRIDAY NIGHT TALK 7.30pm POPULISM 🗓

September 25, 2020

‘Populism’ is like ‘extremism’, a label mostly attached by people to views they dislike. We’ll look at the distinction made by populists between the elite and the people, and also at why populism is usually combined with other ideas, such as nationalism. Do left-wing and right-wing populism have much in common? Is the ‘us and them’ attitude of populism really a reflection of the division in society between the working class and the capitalist class?
