The successful applicant will have an interest in labour movement and progressive issues, a broad understanding of the trade union movement and its political priorities and a commitment to the political objectives of the paper.

    The successful applicant will…
    – A flair for the English language and for snappy, punchy presentation,
    – Attention to detail,
    – Tight copy-editing skills,
    – The ability to work well as part of a small team and offer new ideas,
    – Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop preferable

Some Sunday working is required as part of a five-day, 35-hour week in order to cover the paper’s six publication days. Wages start at £20,696 per annum subject to probationary period. Holidays start at 28 days a year rising to 30 days, plus bank holidays.

If you have the skills and you're ready to take on a new challenge at a national newspaper which isn't afraid to tell it like it is, send a covering letter and CV to Editor, Morning Star, William Rust House, 52 Beachy Road, Bow, London E3 2NS or by email to editor@peoples-press.com
