Seems to be a change in attitude by Hamas that because it doesn't coincide with the government/media image of the organisation as anti-Jewish terrorist group isn't getting wide coverage.

Hamas would accept a settlement to the conflict based on the June 4, 1967 borders. Hamas has distanced itself from the Muslim Brotherhood. Unlike its 1988 charter which referred to jihad against Jews, the new manifesto says Hamas is not in conflict with Jews because of their religion but rather against "the Zionist project." "Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine. Yet, it is the Zionists who constantly identify Judaism and the Jews with their own colonial project and illegal entity," the document states.

As for its continuing rejection of Israel, it can be likened to the Sinn Fein relationship to Northern Ireland…refusal to acknowledge its right to exist but happy to be a participant in it for pragmatism.

Naturally, Israel does not wish to see a moderate Hamas arise and will maintain it is a terror organisation since Hamas has not disavowed violence against the occupying force.
