    WORLD SOCIALIST PARTY (NEW ZEALAND) – Executive Committee Meeting

    Held via telephone at 51 Weymouth Road, Manurewa and 15 Tanera Crescent, Wellington

     

     

    DATE:                                    Sunday 2nd September 2012.

     

    CHAIRPERSON:                 M Grayson.  Moved M Gribble, 2nd C Matene.

     

    OPEN:                                   2pm.

     

    PRESENT:                             (Committee)      A Coombs, M Grayson, M Gribble, T Lovatt, C Matene.

                                                    (Members)         G Coffey, V Lovatt, C Malins, J Ryder, R Watkins.

     

    APOLOGIES:                       None.

     

    PREVIOUS MINUTES/ERRORS & OMISSIONS:                     

     

    1.            Previous minutes read out.  Correction to motion of which notice has previously been given.  The outcome of voters was not noted.

     

                    T Lovatt moved the previous minutes be accepted after corrections have been made, M Gribble 2nd.

     

    DISCUSSION ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES:

     

    1.            Radio transmitter box has been returned to HQ.  Oscillator needed retuning.  Transmitter is in good working order now.  Set to transmit on 88.3FM.

     

    CORRESPONDENCE:       

     

    1.            Socialist Party of Canada – Newsletter received via email.

    2.            Toiya French – Has sent some literature for the party library and bookshop.

    3.            Jim Ryder – A book written by Peter Smith about the 1951 waterfront lockout has been donated to the party.

     

                    M Grayson moved the correspondence be accepted, C Matene 2nd.

     

    LITERATURE SECRETARY’S REPORT:

     

                    Socialist Standards for August will be posted to subscribers when they arrive.

     

    TREASURER’S REPORT

     

    M Gribble presented the treasurer’s report.  Yellow Pages have contacted WSPNZ to confirm contact details for the latest edition of the Auckland & Wellington telephone directories.  M Gribble moved the treasurer’s report be accepted and any outstanding accounts to be paid, T Lovatt 2nd, all in favour, treasurer’s report accepted.

     

    GENERAL BUSINESS:

     

    1.            Discussion on setting up 2nd radio station.  Possibly set up in Waiuku.

     

    NEXT MEETING:                 Sunday 7th October 2012, starting at 2pm.

     

    CLOSED:                               2:30pm.
