There weren't supposed to be any more, but what are we going to do? Branches were asked earlier what they would want to do …. in 2020. I think North London, West London and Kent & Sussex replied.

But, being so soon after the 2015 general election, I think we should consider contesting some of the non-London places, eg. one of the Oxford ones (preferably Oxford East), otherwise we appear as fly-by-nights.

With the May local elections in between, we can perhaps expand their scope by building upon and linking them, using them as dry runs, so to speak…our local council candidates becoming parliamentary candidates and election agents for the later general election

The easiest thing to do is contest the 10 we contested last time, and maybe save ourselves a few quid by not doing the mailout and relying on a general leaflet instead.  That would cost us £5,000, plus the cost of a relative handful of leaflets. We could use money saved to maybe pitch for a big add in the Mirror (or similar).

The AV Committee hope to have the new introductory video ready for the election. Perhaps a link could be sent to all enquirers. A member on facebook has suggested using the party logo on the corner of our social media avatars which will help raise the party's profile during the election.

I very much doubt it will be possible to contest the same 10 constituencies we did last time for a variety of reasons.  But all of this including various advertising options needs to be hammered out at Conference and when the EC next meets on 6 May.
