One of the acolytes of the pashmina salesman (would the next balakrishnan be too harsh?) has tried to attack the CPB and failed

    and the response

    Quote:
I'm putting this on my FB page so comrades and friends can see how how this sectarian grouplet trains its misled followers in dishonesty from an early age. The distortions and misrepresentations are so numerous, I won't even try to respond to them all, but here are a few:

    1. I arrived at the school 30 minutes early. The invitation had directed me to the wrong campus, and no teachers could be found by reception to expose the mistake and redirect me. With the help of students, I reached the correct room about 15 minutes after the schedule was due to start. This could easily have been verified by our young reporter – but he preferred a cheap shot.
    2. As in countless speeches and articles, I defended and praised Cuba's model of socialism, being built despite all the efforts of US imperialism to destroy it.
    3. I explained that North Korea had embarked on its road to socialism in conditions of utter devastation created by US imperialism. I defended its sovereign rights against imperialist intervention. But I also made clear that this was not a model that the people of Britain would want to emulate – and nor would our party propose it. Again, the view of our party – with which I am fully in agreement – on this question is well known.
    4. I went into more detail on these issues with the student concerned. I was happy to spend as much time discussing with him as he wanted – but he was rather shy and displayed none of the boldness now displayed in his letter (if it is indeed his own). Not once did he disagree with or challenge me, in public or private. I offered him a range of the publications I had brought with me and put on display. He appeared to take them gladly – which I hope doesn't get him into trouble with the bizarre leadership cult of which he is a member.
    5. About 40 students and staff were present, which I was told afterwards by the local NUT rep was a very good attendance during an exam period. Perhaps our reporter's estimate is wishful thinking, or else maths is not one of his better subjects.
    6. A teacher did indeed say that the CP strategy for socialist revolution was not revolutionary, and didn't appear to be very different from views held by liberals. I didn't hear any murmurs of approval – more gasps of surprise. The students seemed to enjoy my demolition of the ultra-leftism implicit in the question. They had already heard me call for a mass movement and a left government that would nationalise the banks, energy, transport etc., abolish public schools and academies, tax the rich and big business, repeal the anti-union laws, leave the EU and NATO and abolish nuclear weapons. I then talked about the need for the working class and its allies to take state power, which would involve decisive confontations with the ruling capitalist class – and that while violence may be unavoidable, revolutionaries had a duty to work out a strategy to minimise the capacity of the ruling class to inflict it. I did say that it was unlikely that socialist revolution in Britain would be a replay of Russia in 1917, and was perhaps a little mocking of the questioner – which the students seemed to enjoy! After the session, quite a few of the students flocked around the top table, taking Morning Stars and CP publications, and wanting to ask more questions – all of which I sought to answer, including the one or two from our shy correspondent.

A long conversation, well monologue i suffered from a young CPGB-MLer at Wigan Diggers Festival may have been from this guy who has now resignedhttp://www.network54.com/Forum/393207/message/1469801664/Whither+the+CPGBML+-

    Quote:
Matt Florence the rising star of the CPGBML and the Facebook supremo of the CPGBML suddenly and abruptly announced his resignation from that Party on Facebook. Florence was very much the mainstay of the CPGBML's activist cadre. His resignation is quite mysterious and inexplicable . Florence is not the only defector from the CPGBML , there has been a steady loss of members from the CPGBMl. Some left over the scurrillious and repulsive attack on UK KFA on the Red Youth website, others left for a number of different reasons. Working class recruits intially attracted by the CPGBML's opposition to Labour found themselves uncomfortable in a party dominated by middle class elitists and those who have never had a real job for about 30 years or more. It looks like over an intial period of success and growth the CPGBML is now foundering. The jury is out on whether the CPGBML is just a group of middle class people playing at being revolutionaries or another Balkrishnan Workers Institute type job or the most sinister of the lot a state run "anti-revisionist " party , another "British and Irish Communist Organisation" . Only future generations will come to know the truth.

Would it be arrogant to suggest the pummelling Florence received from some of us on Facebook over many months may well have been a contributory factor in his demise from the CPGB-ML?  Do we know if he's put in his Form 'A' yet?

Well, good work! I always hope new socialists might be made, but they also claimed on that forum, he is booking a holiday to North Korea. How true that is I don't know!

Some of us do a little more than just hope…    And what does booking a holiday to North Korea prove?   Only last year our Assistant General Secretary took a holiday there.
