Just thought I would kick off a discussion on the use of the forum. I will inform all members of NERB of this web address when we agree on a date and venue for a meeting.

Thanks to Darren and the Internet Committee for setting it up this forum,  I think it will be easier to navigate than the Yahoo list.

I think the details had been changed on here, but when we switched servers the old contact details came up again frown

The North-East details have now been updated.

How will discussions on this site be organised? Will non NERB members be allowed to take part in discussions, but obviously not allowed to vote?

Hi Socialist Punk, welcome to our 'venue'. Hope you wiped your feet before you came and you are not carrying any viruses cheeky

But to be serious - That is why I started this thread so thanks for starting off the  contributions.   I suppose a chairman will be elected and contributions from non-members allowed as with physical venue.

Hi SP, Vin. The idea is to run the emeeting to as closely as possible mirror, a physical meeting. Ergo, contributions will be encouraged from non members.

I think we will have to work out a way to imitate a "raised hand", that in a physical meeting would signify a wish to contribute and replace it with an approprite "online" indicator!

There are 'standing orders specific to eMeetings held over an extended period' we should familiarise ourselves with. I have posted them on this forum,

Hi Steve and Vin,

Surely if non NERB members are allowed to contribute to discussions it would be like the NERB Yahoo group. There is be no need to signify a desire to contribute, a post is made and people are free to ingnore or respond.
