Joe, the general secretary has informed me that the EC has not banned Vin from the forum so why are the mods saying different?

Linda,

I think everyone following this affair, is awair by now, that the E.C. did not ban Vin. Can you provide evidence to back up your statement?

The following quote proves that Mod.1 has said that the E.C. did not suspend Vin.

On the Thread, "Moderators decision on Cde. Maratty's indefinate forum ban." page 18, post 174, Moderator 1 said,

[quote] "   In june the I.C. notified the E.C. they had no intention of dealing with any appeal on his suspension. The july E.C. requested that correspondence from Vin to the I.C. is forwarded to them. This bypassed the I.C. stage of the appeal process Vin was told about, by Mod1 at the time of his suspension. So any appeal by Vin goes to the E.C. The E.C. did not suspend Vin (

my emphasis) The resolution can be found in the july E.C. minutes. [unquote]

be well.

Either way. The appeal has gone to the EC but as one member has pointed ou the decisions are based on pure prejudice for past transgressions

Better chance of getting 6 numbers on the lottery

Fellow members of the N.E.R.B., the opening post asks if our branch will consider nominating Vin for the Audio Visual Committee.

Is it possible that we can convene a special meeting to discuss this matter, here on our Forum Site. If we find in favour of Linda's request, Tim will have time to email Oliver, in good time to present it to the next (oct.) E.C. meeting.

Can we have your input, please.

Joe,

I agree. I don't see why it couldn't be discussed here and a decision made by a majority of active NERB members.

Cheers,
Stephen

That is my condition. But first, I think, we need some explanation why the E.C. removed Vin from the A.V. committee, in the first place. Seems like an almighty breakdown in communications.

I think that's an absolute prerequisite and I will personally do my best to elicit an explanation at the Autumn Delegate Meeting next month and trust others will do likewise.

Incidentally, at my branch last Sunday I suggested nominating Vin for the AV committee but was told by other members present that it was inconceivable that the present Executive Committee would re-appoint him...

Can two branches nominate a person for the same post?

To be clear, I take it you mean two branches nominating the same person for the same post.  Yes, of course and the more the merrier I would have thought.

Gnome,

In the absence of any other Party member willing to kick start the process of making Party videos, I don't see any other choice than to get Vin back on the AVC.

Stephen

Stephen,

I'm not aware of anyone else in the Party with the necessary expertise to make videos but I think it's highly unlikely, if my 'sources' are anything to go by, that this EC will re-appoint Vin without an intervention by the membership.  Will Tim and/or anyone else from NERB be coming to ADM next month?

Hi Dave

I am intending to be at ADM as the NERB delegate. So I should be there. I do not think any other NERB comrades will be coming down.

As a member of the AV committee I sent a link to Vin's video to a friend of mine who has beenin journalism and commercial video production for about 30 years, he is sympathetic to the party and said he would be willing to look at our material and offer advice, carry out any editing he thought might be needed, on an expenses only basis. His feedback was that he was very impressd with the production quality, he thought the video was very well put together and that there really wasn't really that much he could add to it that would justify the cost of doing it.

Now I accept that my mate only has thirty years of experience working for the BBC, ITV and producing commercial videos for big corporations, which doesn't really compare with the EC's knowledge of the subject, however I do think his opinion might be worth bearing in mind.
