Anything happening with the branch? I know there seems to be a general reluctance to embrace 'new' technology but there is enough of us to make something of this:

Me

2 Steves

Joe

Joe

Major Mcpharter

JB

LM

EC

and a few others

If we don't then how can we expect the working class to take an interest?

Why are members not taking part? only takes a mouse and a click

Hi Vin

Taken the plunge in getting on line in here. Due to previous circumstances, BB, it was very difficult for me to be part of the online branch activity, but I'm wiling to put my 5 penneth in now. I do feel however that having a face to face branch meeting every three months or so is not beyond us. Perhaps alternating between Tyneside and Wearside. This might encourage one or two of the Tyneside based Comrades to come along. I also think if we were having a meeting about some form of branch activity this might encourage comrades to come along. Perhaps organising a debate or a propaganda meeting might be a useful way of kick starting things. I can thiink of half a dozen politically interested non-members who would probably be keen to go along to a debate with one of the Corbynistas or another political group in the news.

Good to hear from you, Tim. I will go along with face to face meetings and a public meeting, if only to bring interested people together. There was taklk of a 'debate' with the 'Greens ' in Easington , not sure what is happening there. I think Steve and Joe were looking into that.

Welcome to the online forum, perhaps your presence will stimulate more interest from other members. Here's hopingwink

In the meantime perhaps a venue in tyneside area and a call for suggestions for a debate. This is a good area of the forum to get all involved and to exchange info

fraternally

Cheers Vin

Think there is a lot we could do and, surprisingly, politics is starting to interest young people, could be a fertile time to bring in the next generation!!! difficulty I have is the current work demands I have

I echo Vin's welcome, Tim. Your presence is most welcome.

Holding branch meetings and having debates is to my mind the life-blood of any branch. This branch has held two physical

meetings, both in pubs and both venues were totally unsutable --------- too noisey and the seating layout not fit for purpose.

Unless we get lucky, we need to hire a room, such as the Brighton Discussion group do. Hiring a room takes money.

Speaking as branch treasurer, may I remind N.E.R.B. members that to opperate an active branch, funds are needed, funds, which at this moment in time, we do not have. I can not put it any plainer than that, comrades!

Perhaps the sensible thing to do would be to apply to the EC for a grant of about £500 to cover Branch costs in room hire etc. I genuinely think when we physically get together, raising cash to run the branch should not be difficult. Getting donations over the web is a bit tricky, but I'm happy to put some cash in the pot when we meet up. I'm sure the other Comrade Kilgallon would be more than happy to put some cash in (although she isn't physically fit enough to get to meetings). Could that be put ont he agenda for the next cyber meeting?

Perhaps a call for members to register their interest in a 'cyber mtg' next week end and we can set up an Agenda?

I can't promise to attend any meeting coming up soon, Vin. I will send you a private message.

Could you let me know when the next branch meeting is going to be online. I have a few items I would like to place on the agenda.

Cheers
