"How many people have ever heard of Discount Houses? We never read about them in newspapers or heard of them on TV and yet they were a very important part of the British financial services industry, so important that they were given a special privilege by the Bank of England which no other financial institution could have.
What was so special about the Discount Houses and why have they vanished? Vic will deal with these questions in his talk."
