Text Box: The Socialist Party is like no other political party in Britain. It is made up of people who have joined together because we want to get rid of the profit system and establish real socialism. Our aim is to persuade others to become socialists and act for themselves, organising democratically and without leaders, to bring about a new society based on common ownership and democratic control.

This new society will have no owners and non-owners, no prices, wages or profits. Inside this society people will co-operate to produce all the food, clothing and shelter that society requires. The basic principle of this society will be - from each according to their ability to each according to their needs.

Our sole aim is to get socialism, we are opposed to all reformist political parties. All of them merely wish to amend capitalist society, none of them propose its abolition. In fact the last hundred years have shown that despite the promises of reformers such as the Labour Party capitalism still operates. A 100 years of reform has shown the folly of a policy of reformism. We want world socialism - that is our sole aim.
